Empowering Lives Through Compassionate Support
Caring for Homeless People in Nassau County
The Coalition for the Homeless of Nassau County’s mission is to reduce homelessness in Nassau County, Florida; coordinate with other organizations to help homeless persons receive the services they need; and create, fund, and maintain individual programs and ministries to further this objective.
We are a nonsectarian and nonpartisan registered nonprofit 501(c) charitable organization, incorporated in the state of Florida. Our Board of Directors, staff, and volunteers receive no compensation for their services — 100% of our income is from donations and applied to supporting our mission areas. Operating from space generously provided by the Church of Christ, we run the Day Drop-In Center six days a week, providing a full, hot breakfast and a sack lunch to all who visit.
Together, We Can Change Lives
Thanks to the generous contributions from local organizations and people like you, and the outstanding work of our staff and volunteers, we continue to support Nassau County’s homeless population. The numbers speak for themselves — in 2025, we:

-
Processed and delivered approximately 2,200 pieces of client mail.
-
Activated the Cold Night Shelter for 30 nights and served a total of approximately 480 guests.
-
Completed nearly 150 requests for assistance, including transporting clients to places such as grocery stores, food banks, and hospitals; delivering food boxes and supply items; helping clients purchase prescription medication; and assisting in filling out applications for birth certificates, Florida IDs, and housing.
-
Relocated 15 clients to various parts of the country to stay with family, friends, or relatives.
-
Provided move-in costs for seven clients approved for apartment housing.

Donate
The Coalition for the Homeless is funded entirely through donations from organizations and generous people like you. Unlike other nonprofit organizations, our Board members and staff are all unpaid volunteers, so 100% of your donation is applied to our mission.
With your support, we can continue to provide crucial services such as the Cold Night Shelter and the Day Drop-In Center, which provides hot meals six days a week. Other programs available to our homeless population include relocation services, assistance with apartment move-in costs, and drug rehabilitation. Your donation will also help us expand our operations into the Westward area of Nassau County, which is currently greatly underserved.
